Everything you need to know about building daily discipline, scheduling time, and mastering your productivity with GettingPace.

GettingPace is a minimalist, sequence-driven daily task manager designed to foster daily momentum and consistency. Unlike traditional todo lists that turn into overwhelming backlogs, GettingPace structures tasks in strict numbered sequence, automatically sinks completed tasks to the bottom, and executes a clean slate daily reset at your chosen time.

Discipline is not an inborn personality trait; it is a neurological habit built through deliberate repetition. GettingPace enforces discipline by eliminating choice paralysis: tasks are executed in strict numbered sequence (1, 2, 3), preventing you from cherry-picking easy tasks while procrastinating on high-impact priorities. Daily streak tracking and celebration ceremonies provide consistent positive dopamine reinforcement.

Motivation is emotional and temporary, whereas consistency produces compounding results. Committing to a daily cadence of 3 to 6 focused tasks every single day creates unbreakable momentum. The 24-hour cycle of GettingPace removes the cognitive baggage of overdue tasks, allowing you to show up with renewed discipline every morning.

In high-performance productivity, giving a task a "goodname" means crafting a crystal-clear, action-oriented title that leaves zero ambiguity about the required outcome. Vague task names like "Work on project" cause mental hesitation and avoidance. A "goodname" follows an imperative action + clear deliverable formula, such as "Draft 500-word introduction for marketing proposal". Furthermore, maintaining a "good name" refers to personal integrity and professional reputationโ€”built by consistently doing what you say you will do.

Follow the 3-part Goodname Rule: 1) Start with a strong action verb (e.g., Write, Review, Finalize, Deploy); 2) Specify the exact scope or deliverable (e.g., Q3 budget spreadsheet); 3) Keep it concise and self-contained so you can start without additional thinking.

Effective time scheduling combines sequence priority with focused time blocks. Instead of overwhelming your calendar with minute-by-minute appointments, schedule 60-to-90 minute deep work blocks aligned with your highest energy periods. Use GettingPace task reminders for fixed-time appointments, and work sequentially through priority items during your open focus blocks.

The daily reset timer is visible at the top of your dashboard. When the countdown reaches zero, all completed tasks automatically uncheck and return to your active sequence, providing a fresh start for the new day. You can customize your reset time (e.g., 00:00 midnight, 05:00 dawn, or custom shifts) by clicking the clock icon in the top header.

Visual clutter leads to cognitive overload. When a task is marked complete in GettingPace, it smoothly animates to the bottom of the list. This keeps your remaining active priorities front and center, maintaining visual focus on what still needs to be done without unnecessary distractions.

Productivity research consistently shows that human working memory operates best when focusing on 3 to 6 major priorities per day. By restricting your daily list to high-leverage actions, you ensure realistic completion rates, preserve mental stamina, and foster continuous daily streaks.

Yes. GettingPace is built with a local-first, privacy-by-design architecture. All your tasks, reminder schedules, custom reset times, and streaks are stored strictly on your device via browser LocalStorage. No user data is sent to external servers or sold to third parties. GettingPace is also a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works fully offline without an internet connection.

Whenever you check off all the tasks in your daily sequence, GettingPace triggers an interactive physics-driven confetti celebration and increments your daily streak counter. If you complete your tasks daily before your configured reset time, your streak continues to grow, serving as tangible proof of your sustained consistency and discipline.

Life happens! GettingPace includes a built-in Streak Restoration Engine that grants every user a minimum of 3 free streak restorations every month (refreshing automatically on the 1st of each month). If your streak is broken due to travel, illness, or unavoidable offline days, open the Streak Restoration modal from the top menu or flame counter and click "Restore Streak" to reignite your flame without losing your progress. If you need more than 3 restorations in a given month, you can easily contact our support team through the navigation menu to request additional restoration credits.
